AmericasMart Atlanta Honored for Editorial, Design Excellence in Publishing

AmericasMart® Atlanta received three prestigious awards from the Magazine Association of the Southeast (MAGS) during the annual GAMMA Awards held at The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead in Atlanta on May 6, 2008. Honoring editorial and design excellence in magazine publishing, MAGS presented AmericasMart with one Gold and two Silver awards. MAGS received a record 457 entries in its 13 categories—three of which were submitted by AmericasMart. This industry recognition aligns the AmericasMart publications with other media leaders in the community, including Atlanta Magazine, Skirt! Magazine and Paste.
AmericasMart was honored for the following:

• The July 2007 issue of The Market! magazine won Gold for Best Single Issue (published 3 times per year or less). This award honors an issue that exemplifies the best of a magazine’s content writing and design in a manner well-targeted to readership and mission.

• The October 2007 issue of The Atlanta Apparel Guide won Silver for Best Custom Publishing. This award honors custom magazines that deliver editorial content to a targeted audience, providing valuable information that moves the perceptions and behavior of the audience in a desired direction.

• The feature story “Beyond the Bride” from the October 2007 issue of The Atlanta Apparel Guide won Silver for Best Feature. This award honors feature stories of the highest quality that inform, instruct or entertain, with consideration for an article’s relevance to readers, freshness of approach, clarity of focus, quality of writing and effectiveness of research.

The only program that honors editorial and design excellence in magazine publishing in the Southeast, the GAMMA Awards are judged by an elite group of magazine editors and designers from all over the country.
